Bella still couldn't believe just how much the transformation had augmented every sense. It took some getting used to, that was for sure. She stealthily moved through the forest in search of some prey. She knew she would have to lessen the blood lust for when she would return to town. She saw a deer through the brush. Excess venom filled her mouth as she ran forward and hunted. Soon, the deer was drained of its blood and she left its body there. Slowly, a scent reached Bella's nose. It smelled tantalizingly delicious. She followed the scent, though she had no idea what it was. In the distance, she saw a figure. 'Human,' she thought briefly. It didn't register in her mind the fact that she was a 'vegtarian' vampire. It didn't even register that the person she was watching was Charlie. All that mattered to her was that this was a human. And this human smelled better then any old deer.

There were a few things Edward realized as soon as he'd lifted his head from the deer he had just finished draining. The first was the Bella was suddenly no where in sight. That in itself was a bad thing, however Edward also realized moments later that a human was also in the vicinity and from the scent reachign him, it was none other than Charlie.
Edward also knew that Bella would more than likely be overwhelmed by the sent and left to the mercy of her blood lust. Forcing back his own thirst, Edward set off in search of Bella before she made a grave mistake.

Bella stalked Charlie through the trees, watching his every move. He looked oddly complentative, but Bella was glad. The human would be distracted... She positioned her self in front of Charlie, soon he would come upon her. She would make her move then. She focused on his heartbeat. It was slow, obviously he was relaxed and totally unsuspecting. That would make it that much better. The moment he saw her, his heart would beat faster and faster, until she stopped it and sucked him dry. She grinned as she waited for her prey to come upon its predator.
OOC: I'm sorry its stuck in your head. Does it make you feel better to know that I've got it stuck in my head too? I've definately got my muse back. And this time hopefully longer then half an hour... xD

Edward came upon the clearing Bella and Charlie were in, moments too late. All he could do was watch from the sidelines, as Charlie looked up sucked out of his thoughts at the sight of Bella standing before him. Charlie at first didn’t suspect anything, too relieved to see Bella in once piece. Even though he had said he had trusted Edward, he had worried about Bella nonetheless. Perhaps it was this relief that blinded him from the truth of the moment. He took a step forward towards Bella, causing Edward to cry out.
“Charlie, don’t!” Edward’s voice was sharp and commanding. Clearly telling the chief not to move. Not that Edward would expect him to listen, but he was praying to every god he knew of that Charlie for once wouldn’t question him. If he did, Bella could use the distraction to pounce on him. “Just please Charlie if you want what’s best for her, you’ll walk towards me.”
OOC: Yes it makes me feel much better!!

Bella noticed Edward standing nearly 100 feet from her and Charlie. She thought he said something, she couldn't be sure though. She was too focused. But it slightly brought her out of her previous state of mind. But then the wind blew her way again, and her mind returned to vampire mode. She didn't know if she could take this. The heartbeat was starting to go faster and her mind was reeling. She leaned forward, ready to pounce. Then Edward's voice rang out again, politely asking Charlie to walk away from her. It fully ripped the vampiress from her mind. She back to being Bella. The Bella she had always been. Quickly, she stepped back, horror crossing her face. Had she really come that close to killing her own father?

Without any other explanion, Charlie merely walked toward Edward much to his relief. Still there weren't out of danger yet. Just because Bella had reverted back for the moment, didn't mean she wouldn't get enticed again. Keeping a cautious gaze on her, Edward slowly moved forward. "Bella..."

Another breeze blew the scent towards her, but she remained still. She had heard Edward, and she turned her eyes away from Charlie and focused on Edward. But the smell... as well as that heartbeat. It was practically begging her to make it stop. She gave her head a quick sharp shake and then focused on Edward again. Bella stood still, waiting for Edward to come and make everything okay. Yet, her body was still telling her to destroy Charlie and drain him of his life. Closing her eyes, she waited in silence.

Edward paused standing directly between her and Charlie. He could see the battle she was having with herself and knew what she wanted him to do. While he wished he could, this wasn't something he could help her with. She had to get a handle on it, one her own and without his assistance. He wouldn't always be with her and it was better for her to learn on her own. "I'm sorry Bella, this... you've got to beat this on your own"

Bella's eyes flew open upon hearing his words. She looked straight into his eyes. She knew that he was right, she would have to learn on her own. She just wasn't sure she could keep herself from killing her father... Why did the first human she ran across have to be Charlie? She glanced around her, and turned on her heel and ran away from Charlie and Edward. The heartbeat had been driving her crazy, but she couldn't do that to her own father. No, she couldn't do that. Eventually, the heartbeat disappeared and the scent followed soon after. She kept running though, smoothly and elegantly. She weaved through miles of trees and then stopped. The green surrounded her and she sat where she was standing. She took a deep, calming breath. She couldn't... no. She wouldn't let that happen again. She would be more careful when hunting, next time. The silence enveloped her and she tried desperately to regain her composure. She would go back to Edward and Charlie. She had to fix this. She got to her feet and ran back towards where she had left Edward and Charlie.

Edward had merely waited with Charlie for Bella to return. He knew she would, since it had been after Charlie she had stumbled on and not some other human that lived in Forks. The wait however wasn’t exactly as comfortable as Edward would have liked and Charlie’s persistent questions, were wearing on his already thin line of patience. Frowning he just shook his head before speaking in a tone, a little more harsh that normal. “Charlie! I appreciate your concern for you daughter. But your questions at the moment are not my concern. Only Bella and what she could do are. So please just keep them to yourself.”
Charlie’s questions stopped immediately and Edward fought the urge to just knock him out for something. While Charlie wasn’t voicing his concerns now, he was still thinking them, and even that seemed a little too loud for Edward. With a soft growl, Edward did his best to block them out. Hurry back Bella.

Bella could see them where she had left them. Edward was still standing near Charlie, and Charlie was obviously thinking hard about something. She had the feeling he was wondering the hell just happpened. Maybe he was even repulsed by her. He hadn't known that she had been changed yet, it must have been a shock. Bella stopped breathing so that she wouldn't inhale the scent. Slowly, she tested her limits. She neared Charlie and when she was close enough, she softly apologized. "I'm so sorry, Dad. I wasn't thinking. You know that wasn't me. I'm still getting used to this. Please, forgive me." She wanted to hug Charlie, but she wasn't sure she could handle that. Not yet. So, she turned to Edward and opened her mouth, she needed to apologize to him as well. She had known he wouldn't be able to help her. She shouldn't have expected him to change his mind. Instead, her mouth stayed open and silent. She couldn't find the words to say that though. She just have him a look, she hoped her eyes mirrored what she couldn't find the words to say.

Edward had moved slightly off the path, trying to put some physical distance between himself and Charlie, hoping that would maybe help block out the thoughts running threw his mind. He knew it was a pointless action, but tried nonetheless. This is where Bella found them when she returned. Charlie on the path deep in thought, and Edward leaning against an oak tree just watching him. His gaze however turned from Charlie and rested on Bella once she was back in the clearing. He listened intently while Bella talked with Charlie, his heart going out to her. However when she turned to him, he merely shook his head. “I’m the last person, you need to apologize to Bella. I understand, more than you might think”

Bella was glad that he was being understanding. "Thank you," she murmered. She took a step toward Edward before she looked at Charlie again. "I should leave. I'm so sorry, Charlie. I'll come home once I've got things under better control." She stepped off the path and walked past Edward. She didn't turn around to see if he followed. She needed to go and think. Whether he followed her or not wasn't of great consequence.

Edward watched Bella disappear threw the foliage of the forest, before glancing back to Charlie to was staring at him from the path. He could see the pain, confusion and angry reflecting in his eyes and knew just how angry he really was. With a sigh, Edward moved from his spot next to the tree. He knew deep down the Bella just wanted time to think things out, but with already one close run in Edward wasn’t about to take his chances. She could think all she wanted, back at the manor. Down in the basement if she wanted to be alone, but somewhere, where he knew they could keep her under control.
Walking threw the forest, taking the same path Bella had taken, he paused glancing back at Charlie. He held the chief’s gaze for a moment, before he spoke. “I thought you of all people, would know that the forest isn’t the safest place to be.” With nothing else to be said, Edward disappeared into the forest.

Bella walked at a fairly human pace back to the Cullens, so it was a few minutes before she felt it would be safe to breathe again. She could still hear the faint heartbeat though, and she picked up the pace a little. Soon, that too went away, and she gave herself over to her thoughts. It was much harder to resist then she could have ever imagined. She didn't know what to do, how to make everything better. She supposed that she would just have to work at it more. But just how long would it be until she could enter town and keep herself from doing anything that could destroy the Cullens utopia? She was certain she would never willingly do that, so long as she kept her wits about her. But how could she make sure that she could even do that? She sighed, she didn't know what to do. She felt horrible for nearly succumbing to the blood lust, felt horrible for doing that to Charlie. As well as Edward. Just because he said that she didn't need to apologize to him didn't mean that it was true. No, she had put him in a horrid position. Another sigh escaped her as she detected the sound of water running over the rocks. She must be getting close to the Cullens.

Edward had retreated back to the manor having a feeling that Bella would probably want some space for the moment. He’d be there for her when she needed him, until them perhaps he could think of something to aid her in her efforts for overcome her blood lust. He knew it had taken Carlisle years to become immune to the smell of human blood and he knew deep down, that at certain times he was no better than Bella. He was just able to hide it well.
Memories of chasing Gabrielle threw the forest flooded his mind and he sighed. She hadn’t trusted him before, but that hadn’t given him a right to do what he had done. Though there was no sense in dwelling over what had happened already. He had to be focused on helping Bella in whatever way he could.
Catching her sent still a couple miles off, Edward started to head down stairs to greet Bella. With her arrival still a few minutes off, he shift his destination slightly heading for the grand piano that sat in the Cullen’s living room. Playing would take his mind off the problems at hand, at least for a few moments.

Bella heard notes drifting through the air, Edward was already there. She wondered if he was as disgusted with her as she was herself. The piano's notes calmed her a little, making it easier to think and her breathing seemed a little less constricted. She focused on the musical phrases, going up and down in little cresendos and decresendos. Quietly opening the door, she came up behind Edward and watched his hands float effortlessly over the ivory keys. It was a complex piece, something she wouldn't be able to play, even with her being a vampire. She silently waited for him to finish the piece before she did anything, she didn't want to interupt.

Edward’s fingers danced over the keys in a slightly energetic tune as he waited for Bella to say something. He knew she was standing behind him, was waiting for him to finish but figured that it would be easier to talk if his mind wasn’t completely on the situation at hand. “Go ahead Bella, I’m listening.”

Bella sighed. She twisted and untwisted her fingers as she stared at the piano. "I'm so sorry. I just... I shouldn't have gotten so close to town. Even then, I should've been able to stop." Her voice picked up speed in agitation. "I wish I had the strength to ignore it all, but I didn't today. I wish I could have for you. I really didn't want to disappoint you like I'm sure I did today. It just happened so fast. And the scent..." The venom flooded into her mouth at the mere thought of it. "It was much worse then I ever thought it would be. I should have never underestimated the thirst like I did. I should have been more prepared. I should have done more today. I guess I'm saying I should've been stronger today. I'm sorry I wasn't." Bella suddenly stopped speaking, she had no more words to say. She only hoped he could forgive her for her behavior today.

Edward shook his head, while still pressing the keys of the piano down in erythematic patterns. “Listen yourself Bella. You’re talking as if you did something terrible today. What happened was going to happen sooner or later. Don’t beat yourself up over it. For being that close to town – that close to humans for your first time things could have been a lot worse.” Edward paused remembering his first feeding after Carlisle had turned him. He’d been in a similar situation to Bella he however hadn’t stopped. He’d drank the half the village dry that night. “You did far better than you think Bella.”

Bella kept herself from protesting. She had nearly killed her father. She sighed and sat down next to Edward on the bench, watching his long fingers glide across the keys. An "I'm sorry." escaped her mouth though, and she closed her eyes. She didn't want to watch anymore. Gently resting her head on his shoulder, she listened to the melody of the piece. With her eyes still closed, she murmered, "This isn't how I'd imagined things."

"How did you imagine things would be then Bella?" Edward asked turning his head slighly to gaze at her. It was times like these when he wondered what was going on in that head of hers. He understood what she felt, but it was pointless. You make mistakes and you learn from them. God knows he had.

Bella thought for a moment, she didn't want to say it the wrong way. "I wanted to be able to stronger. I thought I would be. I can't stand knowing that I've failed myself, and you. I can't stand the thought that I nearly killed Charlie. "I'm a horrid creature. I just barely stopped myself from killing my family. How deplorable do you have to be to do such a thing?"

Edward’s rendition of Bach’s Little Prelude in D Minor was cut short when he slammed down on the keys, sending a rather loud, off-key mangle chord throughout the house that even hurt his ears. Taking a deep breath he turned to face Bella again barely able to keep his hands from shaking with suppressed rage. Why was she doing this? Didn’t she understand, that he got it? He knew first hand what it was like nearly take the life of those you cared around and were constantly around you. He had no idea what was running threw her mind right now and honestly Edward didn’t want to know. “Stop it Bella. We’re not perfect. We may have fooled you, when you were human, but not anymore. What you did seems wrong to you yes, but you handled it exceptionally well.” He paused still glancing at her. “You’re not human anymore Bella. Your life – our life doesn’t work like it use to. If you’re going to make it in our world, you’ve got to understand that. You can’t be a vampire and live as a human. All you’ll end up doing is putting us in danger.”
Standing from the Piano Edward walked around the bench and moved quickly down the steps. He left Bella sitting on the bench with her own thoughts. He after all had his own to think about, and they weren’t pleasant. He couldn’t understand why she was not letting the subject drop. Yes she’s nearly killed Charlie, but she’d restrained herself. She had been able to not give in to the call of the blood and that’s what counted. You don’t cage a beast and then be surprised when you find out that it’s a killer once set free again. He could understand why it bothered her so, but knew that she would have to come to terms with it on her own. Bella had made the choice to become a vampire. Now she had to live with the consequences.

Bella straightened up when she heard the tone in his voice, and when he left the piano she listened to the distorted chord still ringing loudly in her ears. I shouldn't have changed. There was too much at risk. I'll end up bringing the Cullens down with me... He's finally seeing what my conversion is going to do to his family... "I see," she muttered, and she thought she did really see where he was coming from. But she could never be sure. She could tell he went down the stairs, but she didn't think he wanted her to follow him. But after a moment of indecisiveness, she did anyway. Bella walked up behind him, but made sure that they had a reasonable distance. She could feel the tension in the air and she didn't know how to break it. She didn't know if he knew she was there, he seemed caught up in his thoughts. Whatever his thoughts may be... Still, the silence was too much for her. She couldn't help but wonder if maybe Edward was feeling some regret for the conversion as well. She wouldn't blame him. She would leave, if he wanted her to. "Do you want me to leave?"

That caused Edward to stop in mid step. Had he heard her right? Slowly he turned to gaze at her, his topaz eyes glaring into hers for a brief moment, before he closed the short distant between them. “How can you even think that?” He honestly couldn’t fathom the idea that Bella would actually consider leaving them, after everything they’d done to get to this point. “Bella please, none of this is your fault.” He placed his hands on her shoulders. “What happened was something that was going to happen anyway. Be thankful it was only Charlie you stumbled across and not someone who could have done more damage to you.”
Tucking her hair behind her ear, Edward trailed his fingers across her cheek in a light caress. “Make no mistake Bella, you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me. Don’t forget that.” With a light sigh, he let his hand drop back to her shoulder. “I’m sorry Bella. I just know what its’ like to try and live in both worlds. All you’ll end up with is heartache. I don’t you to go threw that.”
((Oh my god, look I've actually posted! I do my dears think I've gotten my muse back. Let see if we can get this back up on the road!))

Bella couldn't look him in the eye, so she settled for looking at a point somewhere beyond his left shoulder. "I'm sorry, Edward." She stepped back and turned around to face the house. She took a steady-ing breath and continued. "I should probably talk to Charlie soon, try to explain things. He's probably very freaked out right now." She glanced back behind her at Edward, and then started to go toward the house.
(( And when you found you're muse, I lost mine. I suppose thats the way life goes. Eh, I tried my best. Besides maybe it'll come back when things liven back up.))

Edward watched Bella move towards the entrance of the house and wanted to stop her. He however merely watched her walk off, and stay where he’d been. He was there to guide Bella yes, but he couldn’t make all her decisions for her. If she thought she was ready to chat with Charlie then so be it. He would just have to see if he could unconvinced her first of course. He’d been a vampire a lot longer than she had, and Edward had a hunch that if she went to Charlie too soon, their next meeting would merely be a repeat of their last.

When Bella entered the house, she took a quick glimpse out of the window. Edward was still where she left him, but she didn't really care. She'd be back outside in a moment, right after she gathered her jacket and keys. And in a few seconds, she was ready to leave. She sighed, she should probably call Charlie and give him a bit of warning. After entering her speed dial, she patiently waited for Charlie to answer. But the phone continued ringing, until the answering mechaine picked up. Charlie had changed it, and the new message wasn't too welcoming. "Leave a message after the beep. And Bella, don't bother coming home until you're ready to fully explain things." Agast at the message, Bella hung up her phone. What would someone think, calling Charlie's house? It would draw even more unwanted attention to the changes. She walked over to the front door, ready to go and ask Edward what to do. But as she started to turn the door handle, she thought better of it and decided to not elaborate to him. She'd just sit outside and try to think of a way to fix this. Besides, it didn't seem as though Edward was incredibly willing to help with this problem anyways.

He’d been leaning against his Volvo when Bella exited the house again. He’d been surprise to see her merely sit on the step and become silent. He had no idea what had just transpired but it apparently hadn’t been what Bella had been hoping for. With a slow gait, Edward made his way over to Bella and took up roost next to her on the steps. They were silent for a few moments, each thinking over things not wanting to say the wrong thing. Finally Edward spoke, breaking the silence.
“I can’t help but get this feeling from you. Its almost like you think I’m not doing enough.” He paused thinking on how to phrase what he wanted to say, before actually saying it. “Do you think, that I don’t want to help you Bella?”
