Edward moved silently threw the forest, his coal black eyes searching threw the darkness. He kept close to the ground, low in a crouch as he watched the darkness for his next meal. He Growled softly as the bushes parted an a lone buck walked into the clearing.

Gabrielle spun around, sensing the presence of another person. And, sure enough, at the other side of the clearing, was Edward Cullen. She recognized him from school, but it wasn't until recently she discovered--thanks to Jake, of course--why she'd disliked him so much when she'd moved here. She backed away slowly, a bit terrified. She'd never been around him alone before, and without Bella there, who knows what he might do? He was a vampire, after all. Vampires drink blood...

Edward paused in his hunt, his black gaze falling upon Gabrielle. He could hear her heartbeat, and was taken back by the intensity of it. While he was use to being around humans, spending most of his time around Bella. He’d been sloppy, far too sloppy. He’d let the hunger go for longer than normal, choosing to wear contacts to mask the changing tints. This mornings events with Charlie, followed by the confrontation with Sam and Jacob had done enough to push him over the edge. He was for the moment, at the hungers mercy. With a wild look in his eyes, and frown on his face. All he could hear of Gabrielle was the tempting, luring beat of her heart.

Gabrielle backed up, seriously wishing she was a good runner. She'd always been really bad at running. "Go away," she called out with less power than she'd wanted, "Go away!"
She bit on the inside of her lip, her teeth puncturing the skin. But she didn't even feel it. All she felt was the quick beating of her heart as it sped faster in terror. She shouldn't have been so afraid of him, but she'd seen what vampires can do. They were ruthless, vile creatures that didn't care aboutanyone else as long as they were well fed.

The smell of her blood, rich with her fear was the only thing that reached Edward’s senses now. Her weak, terrified cries fell upon deaf ears and before even he knew what he was doing he was crossing the clearing, heading toward Gabrielle. Her blood called to him, intoxicated him and left him unable to think of anything else but the thirst. He needed to quench it, to get his head back.
Even still, in the back of his mind, the rational side was yelling at him to stop. What would Bella think? What would she say if she knew? He dismissed it without a moment’s hesitation. Who said she would even find out? It was just a little slip, after all Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Gabrielle turned to run, but tripped over the root of a tree instead. "I hate running." She muttered to herself.
She picked herself up and took off into the trees, but she knew it was futile. Vampires could run faster than any car available, and she knew it. "Stop!" She turned around, trying to be brave for once in her life. She'd faced death before, and she could do it again. If she died now, saving herself from the waters in New Orleans would have been for nothing. "Your family signed a treaty. Do you want to break it now?"

Edward surprisingly did as he was told. He stopped, a few inches away from Gabrielle. He gazed down at her, his eyes boring into hers. Despite the hunger and the instincts that were telling him, to just rip her throat out. He couldn’t move, he was grounded to the spot Bella’s face flashing before his eyes. He would hurt her he knew that. It was inevitable, just as her being turned was inevitable.
Crossing his arm, he gave a soft growl. The treaty didn’t matter anymore. Come sunrise, Charlie would confront Bella and Edward would be forced to move into action. What was one more human on his plate? “The treaty is irrelevant. Fate’s been set into motion.”

"Fate?" A harsh laugh escaped her lips. "Fate, Vampire?" She didn't bother using his real name. It didn't matter, especially if he killed her. But if he killed her, he would be killed himself. "Is your family so willing to die so you can turn a human into a vampire, to take away her life?"
If he's going to kill me, I might as well be Super Bitch. She crossed her arms defiantly, a cold scowl freezing onto her face. "Because the werewolves wont let you live if you violate that treaty."

"Do you really think edging me on, is a wise decision? This is your life we're talking about here." Edward said, though he was thinking over what she had just said. He knew his family cared for Bella deeply, but enough to die for her? Could he be the bring upon that sentance? "Do you honestly think I care what happends to me?"

"I think you do care," she said in a dignified voice, although she was petrified. "Because then your family would die because you wanted to bring one more person to the mix."
It was brave, it was dangerous, but she didn't care. The only way she was going to save her life was not pleading for it, but by talking him out of it. Talking might knock some sense into him, or at least enough for him to let her live. Or not, and he would kill her right then. Either way, there was a chance she would die. This way was more favorable towards her, though. "Then you'd be killing Bella too, wouldn't you? Just the person you want to spend eternity with."

He didn’t want to show it, but she’d struck a nerve. Hit onto the one thing that had been holding him back from fully agreeing to turn Bella. He loved her yes, and knew it had nothing to do with what he’d miss once she became one of them. His issues weren’t with Bella, but rather himself. Killing Bella, taking her life even if only to give her a new one, was no different than killing an innocent child in his eyes. And that was one of the main reasons why he had refused so many times before. He didn’t want to become the monster he’d spent so many years trying to outrun. “Shut up!” He growled lunging forward at her. He had no intention of hurting her, but that wouldn’t stop him from releasing a little pent of frustration. “This would be the part where you start run.”

She couldn't outrun him, but she was sure as hell going to try. He was giving her a window, and she was damned if she wasn't going to take it. Gabrielle turned and ran, her heart beating against her ribs. She could feel the beat in every inch of her body--that's how scared she was. But it was half her fault. She'd provoked him, even if it was to save herself.
She hoped that she'd talked some sense into him, though, and maybe gave him second thoughts about turning Bella. She wanted a war about as much as the next guy, and she'd seen too much death to let anyone else innocent die. "Monster," she whispered as she ran through the trees, trying as hard as she could to outrun him.

Edward laughed softly, hearing her call him a monster. She was right after all, but then the wolves probably didn't elaborate on how the Cullens at least fed off of animals. Even so, he couldn't pass up the oppertunity for a good run, and she was making it all too easy for him. He took off after her without much problem running at blinding speeds between the trees.
Her heartbeat was pounding in his ears, slowly driving him insane with hunger. He needed to feed soon, before he didn't something stupid. Something that could cause Gabrielle her life. He just glad that none of his family was around to see him right now.

Esme braced herself for the impact. Having overheard Edward and Gabrielle's conversation, she knew that Edward wouldn't actually bite the girl; however this was ridiculous. So, she did what any mother, well any person really, would do in this situation: plan an intervention. She took off after Gabrielle and Edward, and placed herself between them, directly in his path. He'd either run into her, or shed "accidentally" run into him, but one way or another, the chase was going to end.

Edward had taken sight of Esme, a few second too late and instead of coming a stop a few feet infront of her, he ended up running into her knocking them both to the ground. He was irritated, more with himself than Esme and so not looking forward to the scolding that he knew was coming at some point. Growling softly he watched Esme, Gabrielle's footsteps and heartbeat growing more and more distant as the time past. "What are you doing here!"

Getting to her feet Esme replied dryly "how funny, i was going to ask you the same question, just out for a run i suppose? Because you and i both know what would happen if anything happened to the Girlfriend of the werewolf..." She knew that he would be upset when she stopped him, but she also knew how unlike him this was. Edward never acted like this; They both knew it. sighing Esme waited for his response.

He snapped his mouth shut, choking on the words he was so want to say to her. This wasn’t him; he knew that. But he also couldn’t resist the call that was going threw him. “Its strange… I don’t know Esme. I honestly don’t.” He wasn’t about to admit, just what he’d been doing for the past couple of weeks. Carlslie would have a fit and that wasn’t something Edward wanted to deal with.

Esme felt horrible. She had no idea what to say to him, to comfort or to help. For the last couple of weeks he'd been acting so oddly, and there was really nothing anyone could do about it. "Edward..."She sighed "This cant happen again. You know that." She wished she knew how to help him, but there was really nothing she could do. "I know that you wouldn't have hurt her Edward. I know that, but she doesn't."

"This isn't like last time. I'm in control even if she doesn't think I am" Edward knew there was no point in trying to defend himself.

"Edward...Why don't you take Alice and go hunting for a few days? or camping with Bella. or anything really. You need to take a break, from whatever demons are haunting you." As that last phrase came out of her mouth, Esme rolled her eyes and the irony of it. She then added "You just need to get away from everything for a few days." She was curious as to what he meant by "last time" but didn't want to press the subject just yet.

Edward watched her with a slight smirk. "Nice pun," He growled out but she was right. He needed to get out of here. Hell he needed to just stop psying himself out and finally agree to turn Bella. "I know, I'll figure it out"

"I know you will." Esme tried to sound as confident as possible, but she was really worried that he wouldn't figure it out in time. Things weren't exactly comfortable with the werewolves right now. "You do realize that someone needs to talk to Gabrielle." Edward should do it but seeing as he had just about scared the poor girl to death...

"And who's fault is that?" Esme said quietly, before continuing in her normal voice "If you don't want to I will, but someone needs to. And at the very least you need to apologise... Before she tells her boyfriend that is." Smiling she said as an afterthought "I can go with you if you'd like."
