Rosina trudged through the mud as she walked around the Hoh rainforest...well forest really as rainforests were supposed to be humid, she knew that. It had been early when she'd arrived at a good spot to park and she guessed she'd been there a good few hours. As she thought this she slipped over-again-and landed on her backside. She winced, she'd landed on it several times already and it was starting to hurt plus her jeans were more caked in mud then usual due to the falling rain. "I must have been out of my mind this morning," she muttered to herself as she got up again and started to walk around, looking for where she'd came in.

Gabrielle stood there, in the mud, a sour look on her face. Why she'd decided to go into the rainforest was a mystery even to her, seeing as how it was hard to get anywhere without getting filthy. But she'd wanted to get out of the house...
"Stupid trees." She said when she tripped over a root she hadn't seen in the ground. "Do we really need so many trees?" She picked herself up, her hands muddy from catching herself before she hit the ground.
She heard something a few feet away, something that sounded like a person. "Hello?" She called out, unsure whether or not it was the wind.

Rosina heard someone call out a hello, she blinked confused. People who were in their right mind didn't usually go into forests in the rain. She headed in the direction the voice came from and soon saw a black haired girl, "hello," she greeted in reply to the call.

The girl seemed oddly familiar. Maybe she goes to school with me, she thought to herself, tilting her head to one side. She examined the girl, amused that the redhead seemed to be as muddy as her. At least I'm not the only one who goes into muddy forests.
"Hi," she said, raising on arm into the air. "A little rainy to be out in a forest, don't you think?"

Rosina just rolled her eyes, "it's always rainy so why not be in the forest?" She replied in a voice that was almost dry. She walked up to the girl some more but slipped again and accidentally sprayed the other girl with mud. "Sorry," she apologized quickly and pushed herself up to her feet.

"It's okay." She said, folding her arms. "It's muddy anyway. Our parents are going to kill us when we get home." She laughed sheepishly, trying to whipe some of the mud off of her hands. "And you're right. Might as well be in the forest when it's raining."
Okay, she hated rain. She really, really hated rain. Rain causes floods, and floods kill people. But, since her mother had decided to move to the rainiest place on the planet, she decided she had to get used to it. And what better way is there to get used to something? Emerse yourself in it! "I'm Gabrielle," she said, "and I'd shake your hand but mine are really... dirty. Not that it matters, but you know."

Rosina nodded, "I'm Rosina," she replied. She was right about the mud and her hands were too dirty to shake as well. She didn't like the rain, it could be refreshing when it was too hot but rain all the time was bad. It wasn't like she wasn't used to it though, it had rained a lot in England.

"So are you new here?" She asked, trying to unrinkle her shirt, but failed miserably. "I detect an accent. England?" Rosina seemed to have a very distinct accent, as did Gabrielle, who was from New Orleans. But accents are fun, right? "Where in England? I've got friends up there."

Rosina nodded, "Been here for nearly a month," she replied to the first question. She wiped her hand on a clean part of her jeans and tucked her hair behind her ears. "Yeah I'm from England, the south east to be exact," she added for the second question. "Where are you from?" She asked.

"Oh," she said, "I know some people up north in Blackpool and Preston." She smiled. "I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana. Just moved here about... six months ago, I think. Time has been creeping by, s oit seems like I've been here forever. This isn't exactly the place I would have chosen to move to, but my mom decided it. I suppose it's had its... perks." She grinned widely. "So do you go to Forks High? I think I might have seen you there... but I don't pay much attention to my peers so who knows."

Rosina nodded, "yeah I do, I'm probably in different classes to you or something," she replied with a small shrug. She didn't have any friends at school as she didn't really talk to anyone there so that was probably another reason they hadn't met before.
