So during CLA10 today, Courtney (aka Esme), Kelly, and I were discussing (more like shouting) about who was better: Edward or Jacob. Kelly had just begun New Moon, and thusly doesn't quite know who Jacob really is yet.
Now, I'm Team Jacob. Always have been, always will be. I love Edward to death, he's amazing, but I'm not as forgiving as Bella. After that stunt he pulled (I don't care if he had good intentions), I just can't completely forgive him.
And I have a thing for Native American guys with long hair and nice bodies =D. And Jacob is just so amazing. Ah-may-zing. Edward is great too, and he's a vampire to boot, but I lost a lot of my love for him after what he did to Bella.
That, and Jacob is single =O (shocks me, really). XD So he's more appealing to me... the fangirl side of me.
=D So what team are you on?

Team Edward. Jake pissed me off to no end. Get away from Bella, she is Edward's. Edward and Bella. Not Jacob and Bella. Thats like Paris and Juliet. Not cool. Now, Romeo and Juliet. There's a name you'll remember the rest of your life.
Also, Edward's stunt... it just made him all the more Edward to me.

Yeah, well, I loved Jacob because he was persistant. That's exactly how I am. I'll try and try and try until I lose interest.
Although, I'm glad Edward came back. I think I woulda shot myself if there was a whole Bella + Jacob thing. Jacob = mine. XD Esme and I've decided to send my character to Stephenie to see what she thinks. Hey, a girl can dream right? XDDDDDD

Team EDWARD!!!!!!! I happen to agree completely with Bella. everything Edward did, was out of love. thats just so über-ly sweet. and on top of that, Edward is just so....edward-ish.

But he left her. I don't care if he did it because he loved her, he still left. I'd rather be in danger constantly with the guy I love than have him leave, and me never know if I'm ever even going to hear from him again. And I just can't forgive him. If a guy did that to me, I'd make sure all his reproductive organs are unusable (not that Edward can have kids, but obviously, from what the book says, they work...)
Ever heard the song Crazy Bitch by Buckcherry? That's totally me XD

He was just trying to protect her! He couldn't bear it if anything happened to her (we've seen the proof....ITALY). and yes, i feel bad for Bella (and just as bad for Jacob, even though she told him they couldn't be more then friends...repeatedly.) but knowing that someone loved me so much that they couldn't even stand the thought of something bad happeining....its just amazing. so sweet.

*shakes head* He did it because Edward is Edward. Its just so like him to do something that crazy and downright stupid.

You both are pathetic excuses for women XDDDDD STAND UP TO MEN! BE A WOMAN! DON'T TOLERATE ABUUUUSE!
o.o... wow. Random.

Definately random.
If I were Bella... I'd do anything to keep him to stay.... But thats just me. Edward just sounds absolutely perfect. Even tolerate abuse.

I take that back.
Abuse = Crap. Why would I tolerate it from Edward if I don't tolerate it from my own father? (Though my father is certainly not half the man Edward is)

hmmm, abuse is a bit much, even for me (the sappy romantic that i am). I've seen its affects, and no man no matter how perfect is ever worth it. ever. And Edward isn't perfect. (but hes damn close, thats for sure) he makes a lot of mistakes, but they are usually made with...yup you guessed it, Good intentions. like leaving Bella, for instance.

Besides, Edward wouldn't abuse someone. He's too much of a gentlemen.

XD I was being being random. I didn't say he was abusing her, but the torment of him being gone sure as hell did the same stuff. I don't care how amazing Edward is, I can't forgive him for what he did. I just can't. =/

*sigh* Thats horrible. Another reason I don't like Jake is cause he's so much less... refined. If that makes sense.

I love him because he's so weird and spontaneus. He's strange, and that's what I love. He's different... =D He's not Edward. He's the opposite. I love him.

awww, be nice to Jacob. you have to love the werewolves! (even if Edward is better. *smirk*) Jacob is really sweet, i just don't think hes suited for Bella. when it came to what she wanted, i think that he was to easily led. hes much better off without her.

I like predictablility. Hence Edward.
*shrugs* I just don't like the idea of Bella and Jacob. If not for the whole scene at the end I would've felt differently. But he's a complete jerk to Bella and then its all, "Let her go! She wants to!" or whatever at the very end. If not for that, I would've felt bad for him and hoped he got some other girl.

Okay! OKAY! Now now, be nice to Jacob. He did that for a reason. You have to understand that Jacob did what he thought was best for Bella. You're the one who's been arguing that Edward left to protect Bella. That's exactly what Jacob did! I know that it wasn't right, and he's biased against the vampires and everything, and we all love vampires, but look at it from Jacob's standpoint. It's in his nature to hate vampires. ALL vampires. Nothing's going to change it. He thought he was doing something to protect her. He also thought, if you read the thing Stephenie wrote from his viewpoint, that Edward was keeping Bella from visiting him. So yeah. Jacob had good reasons, too.

I haven't been arguing that Edward left for a good reason. I said it was stupid and idiotic (or something along those lines. and i might not've been here. I forget where I've had this discussion before.).
I was pissed off at Edward. Then Jake pissed me off more then Edward ever could.

Ok, ok, now it's my turn. I've actually had a bit of personal experience with this type of situations. (Well, not the vampire/ werewolf part- but a girl can dream ::le sigh::
I will admit that I had found what I thought was the love of my life. He was my first love, and a part of me will always love him. As much as I love my fiance, I have to be honest and say that I could never give up that tiny bit of my heart.
This boy was every bit of an Edward as you can imagine, pale, smart, strong and protective, but also very affraid. He was terrified of hurting me, and I didn't understand. I blew off his worries assuring him that's all they were. His family were risk takers and a bit out there. They went to the shooting range, a bit wild, drove fast in jeeps on muddied roads, paintball. I was tiny at the time- Bella tiny (Yes, I gained mucho poundage in 5 years!) and they were all so rugged and muscular. He was petrified to bring me anywhere with them. I was almost shot several times, run over, killed by paintballs to the throat and I received a broken bone and several spains. I also have a scar on my wrist from Thanksgiving when his dad accidentally stabbed me while serving me vegtarian turkey breast!
He dumped me with not much of an explanation just after the holidays and before my birthday. I was crushed and was an absolute wreck. After a week, I still dreamed and sobbed myself to sleep, called out of work with the "flu" and couldn't leave my room except to go potty. All my friends gave up on me, except my Jacob. He'd come over and talk me into showering (I know, ew), maybe eating something and then he'd just sit there quietly with me, petting my now clean hair watching tv, while I just stared at nothing.
A month later, my Edward came to see me. I was actually cleaned, dressed and watching a movie with Jacob- who was livid that he was there. He actually got up and shut the door. I was so shocked to see myEdward THERE and looking as horrible as I felt, big bruises under his eyes, ghostly pale, hair a mess, skinny, and just blah, I was so thrilled and in shock! Then i heard jacob screaming at him, and edward screaming back. I went and broke up the fight- jacob stormed off.
Edward and I talked for hours. Now here's the thing. His parents are Wiccan and his mother had been filling his head full of things like "fate happens and everything happens for a reason". My mom was the same way and saying the same things to him. Somehow he had gotten it into his head that he was CAUSING these accidents to happen to me and it scared him.
Now, I think we all know that it sounds pretty lame, but seeing him tremble and to hear the truth in his voice- you would have forgiven him too. All my friends said I was stupid for taking him back, that he was going to break my heart againa nd they wouldn't be there to pick up the pieces- even my Jacob.
Needless to say, we were very happy until some stuff went down a year later when we were becoming VERY serious and we broke up (long story that concerns meddling friends who broke us up with their malicious lies. It also resulted in my ending the friendship with Jacob).
Years after, we discovered what had happened, but it was too late for me. I had moved on the best I could and I refused to go through it all again. I kind of secretly wished tha ti had sought it out though, but I am happy and content with Joey.
So um, though I love Jacob to pieces, go team Edward.

Team Jacob for me, I would have said Team Edward until I read New Moon for the second time >.<.
Anyway Jacob is just a great character, he doesn't seem perfect at all unlike Edward who at times does seem perfect (not so much he's a Gary-Stu though). Jacob is the sort of character that if real a lot of people would probably try to be friends with. His persistence to get Bella shows he always tries to get what he wants and doesn't give up easily. He's not the type of person to take the cowards way out by running either. He's a bright character most of the time and if you can imagine yourselves in his shoes you can get some really great angst scenes.
Plus I already have an Edward, my little brother! He's sweet, polite, cute and just great. I couldn't imagine a better person who has the name Edward!

o.O Sorry to hear that, Alice. O.o...
Yay, Rosina's on my side XD. AH! I HATE THESE SCHOOL KEYBOARDS! THE SPACEBAR WONT PUSH DOWN KLFJDKSJKLSJDGFSJDG.
Anyway, back to the point. I agree with Rosina. Jacob seems more human to me, much more than Edward. I love Edward, and I wish I had one, but sometimes he seems too perfect. I don't want someone so "perfect" like Edward. XD Maybe this spawns from my controlling side. I'm kind of dominant. Jacob seems kind of submissive, in the relationship department. =/ Edward, on the other hand, seems more controlling (don't take that as a bad thing, but you have to admit that Bella can be--not always--very submissive). That just wouldn't work for me. XD
*sings Crazy Bitch* Ohhh you're a crazy bitch but you...
Yeah. XD I'm done singing.

LOL! YOu so CRAZY!
I do agree on your's and Rosina's points for Team Jacob. Touche.
However, I think that New Moon shows, specifically, how Edward is NOT perfect. He has a fatal flaw in that he believes that he is evil, while fairly good, and that he always knows best (which he obviously doesn't). That is something that constantly reminds me of my joey, actually!
Some of the fights I've had with him morrior ones that occur in the novels and though heart warming in my own reflections, they scream imperfection within Edward in something that is thought to be omnipitant and flawless.
Though I do have to admit it is a close descion as Edward is a mere 51% and Jacob is 49%! ::lurves them both so much::

Well, Crys, it's that way with me. Jacob is my 51% and Edward is 49%. But I love them both <3

Jasper is perfect, you all should love him. Okay no he isn't perfect, but he is perfect for Alice, and Alice is close to perfect so that gives him more perfect points. nod nod. AND. Jasper is pretty. And. He should have his own book. nod nod.

We definately can't have her dying on us. Then I'd have to raid her house for the unfinished drafts of Breaking Dawn and Midnight Sun.

We can all raid her house, and then get a ghost writer who's just as good as her (that'll be tough) and have them finish it. =O Or! WE COULD FINISH IT OURSELVES!
