Name: Gabrielle Gamarra
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearence: She has long, black hair and dark eyes that are sometimes the only portal into her mind. Her skin is tanned, but as a result of trauma, her skin appears very white but looks as if it were supposed to be tan. It's all psycho-sematic. XD See picture.
Personality: She used to be a pretty outgoing, happy-go-lucky girl, but hurricane Katrina kind of change that. She's a lot more macabre now, taking an interest in the darker things in life. She can be rude to people she does't like, but anyone who can break through her hard exterior is a good friend to her. She latches on to those she cares about and will do anything for them. She does not tolerate judgemental people, although she can be a little judgemental herself. She tries not to be, though, and tries to get to know somebody before she passes judement. Gabrielle is a strong girl, but some things set off her emotions. Depending on the situation, she will either harden up or break down. There's usually no middle ground.
Likes: Music (rock music of all kinds), painting (she's quite talented), acting, movies, writing, reading, hanging out with the few friends she has
Dislikes: Thinking about the past, judgmental people, stereotypes, the Cullens
History:
She was born in New Orleans to Joe and Donatella Gamarra, who were Italy natives. She grew up in New Orleans, but she visited Italy with her parents on occasion.
She was a happy child, and everything was going great for the Gamarra family. Then Hurricane Katrina hit.
The family didn't realize how harmful it was going to be. Sure, they were told to get out. But they didn't listen like they should have. They had recieved warnings before, and nothing had ever happened. When Katrina hit, they lost everything.
The Gamarra's were forced onto the roof of their modest home. The flood water almost pulled Gabrielle off the side of the house when she accidentally stepped too close to the edge. Her father grabbed her before she fell in.
Over her shoulder, she witnessed her best friend and neighbor, David, fall off of his family's roof and into the dangerous water. She pushed past her parents and went to the edge again. The last she saw of David was his hand pop out of the water, all grey flesh, and sink back in.
They were forced to live in the Superdome for a while. Gabrielle kept positive, but everything changed when she found her father dead.
It was the middle of the night, and she awoke to her father getting up and walking away. She quietly followed, careful not to wake anybody. When she turned the corner, she saw a pale figure drop the dead body of her father. When she rushed to Joe's side, he was already dead, and the person who had killed him was gone.
She found bite marks on her father's body. From that moment, she developed a hatred of vampires, but she didn't exactly realize it. She hated them, but she didn't believe in them. It was all in her subconcious.
The devistated Gamarra family recieved gifts of money, clothes, and other things from random people, family in Italy, and help organizations like the Salvation Army and the Goodwill. With everything, Donatella moved them as far away from New Orleans as she could: Forks, Washington.
Gabrielle didn't like Forks from the moment they moved there, but she didn't say anything for her mother's sake.
At a small party the townspeople threw for her family, Gabrielle left the house. Outside, she heard thunder off in the distance. A storm grew closer, and the rain started. With one loud, close burst of thunder, Gabrielle's first episode was set off. It was, as she found out later, a result of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The episode was a flashback of her standing on her roof, watching her best friend drown. She relived everything, the pain, the cold, the stress. Everything came flooding back.
She tried to avoid anything that would trigger another flashback... but she isn't always victorious in that battle. Episodes can be triggered at any time, by almost anything.
Home town/country: New Orleans, Louisiana

Gabrielle entered the cafeteria, lunch in hand. She'd been at this school a month, but it already seemed she was a "person repellant." In a small town, it's hard to keep things silent, and thus almost everyone knew about her "episodes." Everyone was too afraid of saying or doing something that might trigger a flashback and send her into... whatever it is she's sent into when she flashes back.
She didn't care, though. She didn't need people to be happy. Well, she wasn't exactly happy... but she was making the best out of this green Hell.
She took her seat in one of the lunch tables furthest from anybody. Sitting down, she opened her lunch, but didn't begin eating. It was another of her mother's amazingly good Italian dishes, but she just wasn't in the mood for Italian.
She sighed and looked out one of the windows. It was an unusually bright day. There were no clowds in the sky, and she noticed something else lacked: The Cullens. Not that she cared, of course. She hated the Cullens. Gabrielle wasn't sure why, but she didn't. From the moment she'd seen them...
