It was a normal day in Forks, a normal day in school. A normal, boring day. Rosina sat alone as usual on the only spare table, pushing her food around with her fork. Every day seemed the same at school and it was annoying. She sighed and took a bite of her food, as much as she liked being alone sometimes-for example now- she wished someone would actually sit with her or at least come over and say hi.

A book dropped in front of Rosina. It was a small, brown book with a single picture on the front, and was falling apart badly. It read: THE GREATEST WAR NOVEL OF ALL TIME ERICH MARIA REMARQUE
All Quiet on the Western Front Beneath the title was a picture of a man, looking off into the distance, with a fallen soldier in his arms. Beneath the picture it read "on the threshold of life, they faced an abyss of death..." Gabrielle dropped her bag onto the floor and sat down across from Rosina, pulling her dark hair back into a ponytail. Rosina was the only person at this school she'd ever really spoken to, next to Edward Cullen, but there was no way in hell she was going to sit next to him. "This is the worst book of all time. If your teacher tells you to read it, protest!"

Rosina raised an eyebrow as Gabrielle sat down. "Okay...can't be as bad as some of the books I've read though," she replied quietly. She returned to playing with her food. Rosina read a lot, at her old school she'd been in the library every lunchtime when it was open plus she had a huge collection of books of her own and even read books her parents brought.

"Well," she said, "I've read a lot, too, and I can honestly say this is the worst book ever. I can't see why people think it's such a great anti-war novel, because it's not. It's just like... one of the first. Honestly, it kind of sucks. Protest with all your might!" she laughed. "And food is for eating." She winked at the other girl.

Rosina just picked some food up and ate it, "I know, just to busy daydreaming to eat," she replied. She stared up at the ceiling and actually let herself fall into a dream so it wasn't a lie.

She raised an eyebrow teasingly at the girl. "Dreaming?" She asked quizzicaly, "About what?" She cocked her head to one side, leaning forward. She rested her elbows on the table, and her chin on her hands. "Boys? TV shows?" She laughed.

"Stuff," was all Rosina replied. That was a common answer from her when someone asked her something and she didn't want to answer properly. Anyway why would she tell anyone she was daydreaming about a boy she'd only met once and then hadn't seen him since? Anyone she did tell would have to be really close and her only friends she would tell were back in England.

Gabrielle wasn't about to let Rosina off the hook. The pretty girl was the only person Gabrielle had taken a liking to at that school, and she was going to be persistent until she got the girl to speak more. Of course, it would probably end up scaring the English girl away, but it was worth a shot, right? Gabrielle had long since ceased making friends easily, and when she found someone that she didn't completely despise, it was a god-send.
"Stuff?" She said flatly before taking a drink out of her soda. "Like? Come on. Girl talk."

Rosina sighed and looked back down to look Gabrielle in the face, "just some guy alright," she replied irritation seeping into her tone. It annoyed her when other people pried into her daydreams and such. She shook her head, "sorry, I just get annoyed when people keep asking me things I don't wanna answer," she apologized sincerely and quickly. She didn't want to say the wrong thing like she usually did

Gabrielle shrugged. "Okay then," she responded, a little shot down but not that upset, "I was just curious. It's not often I ask people, anyway, so you wont have to worry about me."
She crossed her tanned legs, the plaid knee-length skirt she wore falling off her knees. It was unusually warm in the school cafeteria, and she wasn't enjoying it. Her mother kept the house too warm as it was, she didn't need the school burning her, either. She took off her jacket--a black one, with an rib cage on the front that was labeled randomly with the names for the different bones. For instance, where the second rib was, it read "second rib."

Rosina returned to her food, she was actually glad it was warm in the cafeteria she could totally wait when she had to go back outside into the rain. Between bites of food she asked, "anyway how've you been?". She studied the other girls jacket, it looked quite cool but she decided not to comment on it. She herself just wore a black and red Ruby Gloom top with jeans and her normal red and white sneakers. ((Her top looks like this- www.attitude.uk.com/images/catalog/112RUB.jpg ...I wish I had a top like it lol))

"Oh, thing's have been spiffin lately. Things aren't as bad in Forks as they used to be. I think I'm actually getting used to it." She laughed. "I don't spend much time here, though. Mostly I'm over at La Push. It's awesome over there." She grinned, finnishing off her soda. "I like your shirt, by the way. Love does hurt. And that girl is really cute. I love chibi drawings like that."

Rosina nodded, "yeah, my Dad often goes down there on his day off to find out about the Quileutes past and take photos of the scenery so I often go with him," she replied. Her dad loved to take photos no matter the weather, she'd even caught him taking photos of the sky on a sunny day before. It was no wonder she was strange, it must run in the family!

"Yeah, I love the Quiluete people. They're very friendly. Their history is fascinating, too. It's nice to see an interesting part of history that is so unknown, don't you think? The US has like... no good history. Not in my opinion, at least. But the Quiluete mythology and stuff is amazing. Have you ever met any of the reservation Indians? I know quite a few, mostly because I'm always up there." She pulled her hair down again.

She let her friend drift off into dreamland, her own mind wandering. She wondered how things were over at the reservation right now. It'd been a few days since the encounter with the Cullens at the bookshop with Sam, and she hadn't seen Jacob until the day after that. And what's more, she hadn't seen Bella around at school... it made her uneasy.
"So yeah," she shook her head, pulling her mind out of its thoughts. She didn't want to think about what could go so wrong in the near future. "We should go hang out at the reservation sometime. I can introduce you to my boyfriend, and you know, fun stuff. Like going to First Beach. It's so pretty there."

"It is pretty at First Beach, especially at night...yeah we should hang out here some time," Rosina agreed as she shook herself out of her daydream. She'd end up dreaming in class if she kept letting herself fall into daydreams and she'd end up not knowing what work to do.

"I avoid the beach at night," she admitted, looking away. As much as she loved the beauty of the water, she didn't want to be around it at night... the night was definitely not one of her favorite times. And the beach at night? She didn't even want to think of what it reminded her of. "It's nice out there..." she trailed off, puting her jacket back on. She was getting chills, despite the warmth.

She looked up and smiled weakly, her eyes tired. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just thought about a not-so-pleasent thing, and you know, not-so-pleasent things are not, well... pleasent." She laughed and pulled a bottle of Vault out of her bag. She always kept the energy drink handy, in case she needed it. She opened it and took a drink. "Gone to Port Angeles yet?"

Gabrielle restrained a laugh. "Oh, that sucks. I don't have younger siblings, thank god. I don't think I would be able to handle them. I like being the only child, there are less burdens. Like this way I can go to the movies by myself." She let out a small smile, appearing very much like a lioness. "They've got some nice vintage shops out there. I get a lot of my clothes from there, like old Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd shirts. Actually, I was surprised to find an old Sex Pistols shirt from the late 70's in one of the shops. It was expensive, but I got it anyway."

"Oh yeah, tons. And there's a store that sells newer band merch, too. I get a lot of my AFI and HIM shirts from there. I'm sort of a band freak. Most of my wardrobe consists of band shirts, and it drives my mom insane. I meet her half-way, though, and buy little sundresses like she wants me to. I only wear them on dates if I can't avoid it."

Rosina nodded, "I have a couple of Simple Plan, Good Charlotte and Greenday shirts but unlucky with the dresses, I don't own a single dress but I do own a couple of gothic lolita skirts," she replied with a small smirk. She hated dresses and the girliest clothing she had were a couple gothic lolita outfits she rarely wore but she had to admit she loved.

She tried not to make a face at the mention of Simple Plan and Good Charlotte. Green Day she could handle, though. "I like Lolita skirts, and I've got quite a few. I've got like... two corsets that I wear under my clothes, and a few dresses. I really like the whole Chinese silk dress thing. Those are pretty. I like really girly clothes, too, but sadly don't hardly get the chance to wear them. My mom wont let me wear a lot of my clothes to school because they're... strange."

Rosina thought for a moment, "well you could put them in you school bag and change at school if you really wanted too," she suggested. She loved chinese silk as well, she'd had a chinese dress when she was younger but she'd outgrown it and hadn't brought a new one. She had a kimono though which she loved to wear.

She let out a half-smile and grabbed her things. "I'll see you around, I guess." She looked over at where the Cullens sat, suddenly worried. "Umm... yeah. Bye Rosina."
